Learn how to create exciting one-off prints using acrylic paints, leaves and found objects, whilst discovering the delights of the Geli Plate.
The Geli Plate is a soft print plate, readily available in art stores. It is A LOT of fun to work with! It’s a highly addictive process which allows you to make marks and impressions with all sorts of things to quickly generate lots of colourful prints. We will be working on 6″ square Geli plates and you can choose from my huge stash of mark-making tools (bubble-wrap, leaves, corks, lids, string, stamps, stencils, brushes, cardboard, pill packets, food packaging, combs, place mats, etc) to create your prints.
I’ll gently guide you with colour choice and layout, and pass on lots of tips for creating on the Geli plate, to help you assemble your own unique series of prints.
We will then make a simple, accordion-fold book to mount your prints in, so you will leave with a handmade book full of your own artwork from the workshop. The double-sided book can be displayed on a shelf or hung on the wall to show off your print collection.
No previous art experience is needed for this wonderfully addictive process which opens the doors to endless creative exploration.
Due to the productive nature of mono-printing on the Geli Plate, the maximum number of participants on this workshop is four! It’s not so suitable for younger children but is ok for anyone aged 12+.
