Workshop – An Accordion Notebook

These lovely little books can be used as a notebook, holiday diary or sketchbook (or any combination thereof) to record your impressions of the area, and create a lovely memento of your trip. They also make really thoughtful hand-made gifts.

Using acrylic paints, with simple tools and techniques, I will demonstrate a few ideas to create several hand-decorated papers for your colourful covers.

We will then assemble our ‘accordions’, measuring, cutting, folding, and joining the papers. I’ll show you how to make the colourful covers and attach a ribbon tie. Finally, the books will be embellished inside and out using my stash of stencils & stamps.

At the end of the morning you will leave with at least one hand-made accordion notebook and I suspect a strong desire to make many more! Any left-over hand-decorated papers can either be used to make covers on future books, or can be collaged into this one.
