A Small Window – Work in progress video

‘A small window’ began with a drawing done whilst I was out and about on location in the hillside village of Vassilitsi in southern Messinia. This classic scene with the tiny window, sunlit stone wall and bright red geraniums (not to mention the fabulous turquoise feta tin!) just had to be captured. The drawing was done on the spot, seated under an olive tree in the secluded courtyard-garden of a beautifully restored village house belonging to friends. Back in the studio, working from my original drawing and reference photos taken in the garden, this layered, mixed-media canvas was born. I’ve captured a few stages of the creative process in this short video.

The original small painting actually sold very quickly – from a couple of close-up photos on my Facebook Art Page, so I’ve decided to make reproductions available as I had such great feedback on this one! By the way…. please feel free to ‘like’ and follow my Facebook Art Page to see daily photos from in and around the studio.

Open-Edition, archival PRINTS on sturdy watercolour paper are available from £25 and a ready-to-hang stretched cotton CANVAS starts at £55. Paper prints fit standard size frames and both prints and canvases come in several different sizes to suit your available wall space.  They can be delivered worldwide, direct to your home.
