New Year News

New Year Greetings – Sending you some Greek sunshine and wishing you a happy, healthy and colour-filled 2017. We started the New Year spending time with good friends who will be sponsoring my big Summer Exhibition in England this year. It’s in July in the rather smart Edmund Gallery in the lovely market town of Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk. The exhibition, which will be bringing a bit of Greek sunshine to Bury, will run from 22nd – 27th July. I’m really looking forward to hanging out in this great space.

I’ll be keeping you posted here with work-in-progress pictures of the new collection of large original paintings being created for this show….. There’s not really a great deal to show you yet but things are definitely in process.

New artwork is currently in the planning stage – I’m working on small samples and experimenting with some new techniques (not all of which have been initially successful of course!) and spending chunks of time staring into space (creative thinking!) in the studio. I’m happy that the overall vision for the show is gradually coming together though and it really helps that we visited the gallery last year to checkout the space. My original work naturally tends to be quite small, so it’s both interesting and challenging to focus on creating a body of much larger work for this exhibition…. watch this space!

In August this year, following hot on the heels of the Bury St Edmonds show, we will once again be exhibiting at Ninette’s Dance Studio in Koroni – the same venue as last year – from 10th-19th August. We loved the homely atmosphere of the room, and the proximity to cafes for handy fredo-cappuccino and ice cream sustenance during the fierce heat of August.

    All sounds wonderful Gill.
I am back in England now , living in beautiful Northumberland in a lovely cottage . No end of artistic subject matter from my windows , so no excuse not to get motivated to paint again ! I will see if we can make it down to Bury to see you and your new collection ! Best wishes , Valerie .
