Zizani – Anatoliki Militsa via Exochiko

We had truly splendid weather for last Saturday’s walk from Zizani

It was one of those magical, clear, bright days that are perfect for walking

I had reversed this walk route, and added in a couple of new tracks, so the down’s were now the up’s and vice versa. We only really had one major hill to negotiate….and that was immediately before our rest/lunch stop in Anatoliki Militsa.

I love the little platia here, with it’s central tree and small kafeneon. We arrived in time to chat to a few locals who were waiting for their thrice weekly bread delilvery from the bakery in Loga.

The Koroni fish man was also here – delivering fresh fish and enjoying a little wine-meze in the platia.

We paused on the way back, outside the church in Vlaseika

and met a fellow walker along the way…

The GPS clocked our walk at 14.4 kilometres, as we had added a little detour to visit the church outside Exochiko. This we did in 3.26 hours walking, plus 1.28 hours resting time. We somehow clocked a rather speedy walking average time of 4.2 kilometres per hour!
