Monastery Sketching – Koroni

Today’s venue for ‘On Location’ was pretty Koroni Monastery – a place I could happily spend days on end sketching in – there’s so much to draw…

During the morning the blue skies gradually filled with huge, towering storm clouds…

until quite suddenly, our artistic pursuits were disturbed by more than a few giant raindrops.

Painting continued for a while longer, and we retired only a little damp, slightly earlier than usual, by which time the ground was dry again and the sun was out.

Today’s group was the smallest of the summer, but we welcomed a new member, who was returning to watercolour after an absence of four years.

Well done guys – very nice work. Apologies for the rather misty photos….something must have gotten onto the lens….coffee maybe!?
