Three village walk

I recently led a fabulous new walk from Evangelismos to Kalithea, via Perivolakia and Homatada. This was new territory for me (on foot), as I’d previously only driven through these villages which are strung along the inland road from Pylos to Aghios Andreas. Walking for the most part on excellent dirt tracks, we covered the 17.5 kilometers in 4 hours 9 minutes (plus 1 hour 40 mins stopping time). We were particularly lucky with the weather, and there was no shortage of kafeneon opportunities en route. I particularly liked the M25 of dirt tracks that ran from Kalithea to Evangelismos, and think I will put together a slightly shorter version of this walk, cutting out Homatada, for the next time…so it would be a two village walk I guess!
