Last Sunday saw the revival of an old tradition – The melting of the pig – in Akritochori…

Things were really cooking when I arrived – this chap was happy to lift the lid on his cauldron to give me a sneak preview of the contents….

These village sausages smelled pretty good – smoking as they were over a sage and myrtle fire….

The Finikounda dance school gave a splendid display of traditional dancing, accompanied by singing…

Here’s Agis – the teacher – leading the men….

There was quite a crowd and the weather was perfect…
