Summer Collage

The first of two, one-day Translucent Collage Workshops took place today, on a brilliantly sunny day with temperatures in the low 30’s….

We worked inside the studio – putting our artwork out to dry in the breeze…

Everyone was soon producing piles of fabulously colourful, tissue thin papers…

working mainly with proceon dyes, kitchen towels and paper napkins! Oh….and quite a bit of glue….

The process involves layering, collaging and working into the completed piece with acrylics and oil pastels….

adding stamping, dry brush, more dye and maybe even glitter….

The finished collages are predominantly see-through, so can be wrapped around lampshades…..

hung in the window…..or simply mounted on a white background.

a fabulously summery collection – some of which will soon be covering some garden lights….

Thank you everyone for a very exciting, colourful and creative day – your artwork is delightful – well done. Many thanks to Ingrid for bringing the delicious karpouzi.

  1. It was a fabulous day Gill. I’m still getting the glue and paint from under my finger nails! And I didn’t have the dirtiest hands!! Two Ikea lamps transformed from boring white to vibrant colour. Next?!!?
