Stamping Finale

On the fourth and final morning of the Stamping Fantastic workshop, the group was introduced to the joy of Gesso…

Gloopy gesso was soon being liberally stamped, scratched and written into……

and overpainted with proceon dyes…..

As well as playing with this versatile new material, the group had some fun cutting up die cut felt placemats, which produce some great stamping motifs…

As this was our last morning, some people wanted to concentrate on their own projects, such as covering a box with their beautifully-stamped papers…

Others did a little experimenting with their stamped papers, gesso, paint and dyes…

And others happily continued carving and making stamps…

Everyone went home with a goodly collection of artwork, clutching their latest hand-made stamps, having learned new mixed media techniques and tried out several new materials.

I’m already looking forward to Stamping Fantastic – Level 2 next autumn, as there are a few stamping techniques that I simply couldn’t  fit into this workshop!
