Sketching in Vassilitsi

To loosen up and get into the right side of the brain, as well as have a bit of fun, we started off our ‘on location‘ sketching this week with some ‘blind contour portraits’.

They’re drawn very slowly, whilst observing the sitter 99% of the time – covering up the drawing so you can’t peek. It’s a great exercise to get the old internal critic out of the way for a while…

Moving onto choosing locations for our ‘proper drawings’, we were a little spoilt for choice today…

as the village is crammed full of picturesque old houses with tumbling geraniums and cute little courtyards with wonky staircases….

Some splendid drawings & paintings were produced today……

and although we only took a quick mid-morning break for a coffee at the kafeneon…

before we knew it, it was time to re-group and view our collective efforts…

All of which were excellent – congratulations everyone – some very nice work today.
