Red Hot Collage

Braving the high-summer heat, five enthusiastic collagists got busy with the dye, glue and paper napkins on Tuesday.

Everyone elected to work inside the studio, popping outside from time to time to hang colourful dip-dyed napkins to dry in the breeze…

and lay dripping artwork to rest in the shade…

Working away in the heat of the afternoon….

getting a little grubby in the name of art…

and producing a huge and beautiful collection of art-papers…

trying new, inspired, creative techniques along the way…

and ending the day with a goodly collection of finished and almost finished artwork…

much of which was truly translucent….

and some, more opaque, ready to frame for the wall…

Everything was COLOURFUL….

vibrant, individual, exciting and original….

We may well have been mad – spending over seven hours together in a small room, in this heat…..slaving over our paper napkins, dye and kitchen paper…..but the results are gorgeous and delightful. Well done ladies – you should be proud.
