Sketo is a small original acrylic painting. Utilising the glorious blues and whites that are the signature of the Greek Islands, it features a small Greek coffee cup resting on a blue cafe table. Greek coffee, which is cooked up with water, coffee and sugar in a briki, comes in three basic modes – sketo, metrio and glyko. Sketo is the hardcore version – without sugar!
Created with artist’s quality acrylic paints on 300 gsm watercolour paper, the painting measures 12 x 12cm (4.75 x 4.75″) and comes in a white mount measuring 23 x 23 (9 x 9″).
It was painted as part of a recent series of 100 paintings entitled ‘Inspired by Greece’ in which I explored various Greek themes and mixed-media techniques.
The painting is being sold unframed – the mount supplied fits any standard 23cm square frame.
IKEA make a 23cm square RIBBA frame which fits and is a very economical option.
Sketo looks great hung on it’s own, in a simple white frame.
Another option is to hang it with a couple of other paintings from the same series and show them as a small story group.
