This chap was out of the water, about to have his annual paint job when I came across him and couldn’t resist doing a quick drawing on the spot. When in the water, this boat is a hard working fishing boat – daily ferrying the catch into Koroni harbour in the south Peloponnese.
It’s drawn with my left hand, so is a much looser, more naive sketch than I would have produced with my ‘usual’ hand. I particularly like the character of the drawing though, so have repurposed it here as a transfer print image and incorporated it into a collage-painting.
The background was created with a selection of my hand-decorated papers and the whole painting was brought together with layers of acrylic paint and a bit of splatter!
Created on a 30 x 25 cm canvas, this original painting is ready to hang on your wall. The image continues around the edge of the canvas which is about 2cm (0.75″) deep.
I have signed and titled the painting on the back of the canvas.
