This little collage-painting was created using a selection of some of my favourite hand-decorated papers and artist’s quality acrylic paints and inks. It was inspired by an early summer stroll around the village when the geraniums were at their peak and the pots were all freshly painted.
A mixture of collage and painting techniques, On the Corner has been carefully sealed with a couple of layers of clear artist’s medium.
This original painting measures 12 x 12cm (4.75 x 4.75″) and comes with a bright white mount measuring 23 x 23 cm (9 x 9″).
The mount fits perfectly inside a standard square frame (such as a 23cm square IKEA RIBBA) making a simple and economical framing solution, although of course you can frame it as you wish.
On the Corner was part of a series of 100 paintings I recently completed on the theme ‘Inspired by Greece’, in which I explored my favourite Greek themes using a variety of techniques.
The painting could easily be hung as part of a group of small paintings with others from this series as many of them complement each other. It also looks great displayed on its own, either on the wall or on a small easel.
