Lost in Time

Every picture tells a story…. Although initially based on actual places, the doors and walls of the village houses I paint often take on an air of mystery and cease to be purely representational. They speak of the passing of time… of days gone by… and the many layers of life.

I happened upon this old wooden door, shored up against the elements, somewhere in the back streets of Logga village one day and just had to draw it on the spot. Later, in the process of creating the painting, some of the actual details were altered as the scene gradually transformed into what you now see here…. I love the slight air of mystery and the summery feel the painting has.

Lost in Time is an original mixed media acrylic painting created from combination of techniques including drawing, acrylic painting, acrylic transfer, stencilling and stamping. All materials used are artist grade.

This painting was made on a slimline canvas with a depth of 2cm. The sides have been painted blue to complement the painting.
