On a particularly hot morning, a particularly small group of Thursday sketchers gathered in lovely Mochlos Plateia in Koroni….
There was, as usual, plenty to draw…
so we started the morning by taking a look at the fabulously decorative roof detail of the attractive old building on the corner of the plateia…
Several wrong-handers, as well as right-handers were undertaken….
It’s a great subject for practising angles and proportions – although by no means an easy option…..
I enjoyed being able to draw a bit today, as there were so few in the group….
Without moving from the square, it wasn’t hard to find other subject matter…
and the atmosphere in the shady plateia was pleasantly restful….
Later in the morning, the square got a little livelier….
and the cafe under the arches proved to be a comfortably scenic vantage point….
This original, old lamp-post is right opposite the cafe – I confess I hadn’t noticed it before….
No boats were drawn today as it was too hot down by the harbour…
but these little guys were started last week on location in Aghios Andreas, and finished later from a photograph…
After a brief meet-up to look at everyone’s work, we concluded the rather successful sketching morning at 1.45pm. Well done ladies – great stuff.
