I’m really thrilled to have been invited to teach on an online Art Journaling Course!
This exciting course is The Black & White Journal: A Minimal Approach to Artful Journaling. Registration has just opened with an early-bird special offer!
Kiala Givehand, the curator of the course, has brought together seven teachers from all walks of life – to share their love of art and art journaling, in order to start (or reconnect to) a simple creative practice.
My contribution to the curriculum is “Making and Re-Purposing Quirky, Funky Line Drawings”. It’s a two-part process where we start by making big, bold, black line drawings which creatively capture snippets of your everyday life. Whether you’re a skilled sketcher, not so confident, or even if you think you ‘can’t draw’, you should find this right-brain process liberating and fun.
In the second stage of the process, I show you how to re-purpose your funky drawings using a simple (and rather addictive!) transfer print technique. It’s an enjoyable and therapeutic process which allows you to get tons of added value out of your drawings.
The first course session starts on July 10th and Kiala already has a couple of lessons waiting for early-bird joiners… She will show you how to make a handmade journal for use during the course and give you some ideas for starting out simply. This course is all about learning to journal with intention – in a simple, minimalistic way using basic materials.
