A few days ago I proudly delivered ‘Midnight in the Village’ to its new home in the city of Kalamata.
Although I was rather fond of this painting, I was was very happy to take it to its new owner, who had absolutely fallen in love with it at a recent exhibition. It was love at first sight!
Built up with layers of acrylic paint, wax, collage and ink, the central painting is surrounded by a collaged border of whitewashed Greek text.
I chose to add a brilliant blue canvas border to the final painting to show off the whitewashed text background.
Here it is in a December exhibition line up, looking splendid in a simple white frame.
It’s great to deliver a painting and see exactly where it will be hung in its new environment – in this case a lovely little top floor apartment with a huge, shaded balcony with views over the city and the distant sea. Im sure Midinight in the Village will be very happy there.
