Kaplani-Akritochori-Yamia

For the fourth Saturday in a row, we enjoyed blue skies and clear views yesterday on our little jaunt from Kaplani to Yamia, via Akritochori.

We managed to fit two kafeneon stops into this 11.5k walk! Here we are relaxing in Akritochori, drinking coffee and eating delicious cakes brought along by Irini, after a taxing 50 minute stroll from Kaplani!

And here’s some of the group enjoying a nice bit of flat track….having trudged up the long, hilly bit earlier in the morning!

Despite being closed for olive harvesting, one of the two kafeneons in Yamia kindly opened up to serve us drinks, after being prompted by an elderly resident.

Some other friendly Yamia residents as photographed by Susanne.

Two of the walkers today were also sketchers and they both put me to shame by taking every opportunity en route to exercise their sketching muscles – I was very impressed.

Here’s the whole group headed for Yamia, as snapped by Brigitte from the top of the hill – thank’s for the photo dear.

Another very pleasant walking day, with a rather slow pace and lots of stops along the way to rest, take photos and enjoy the scenery.
