From Zizani to Anatoliki Militsa

Saturday 7th May was a great day for our inland walk starting from Zizani. The weather was perfect for walking – nice and sunny, with a light breeze.

Walking via Vlaseika, we climbed the long, gradual hill up to Anatoliki Militsa, where we took a break at the kafeneon in the small plateia, before heading onto Exochico via a long downhill slope and crossing the stream. Above is the view of Anatoliki Militsa from just below Exochico.

We stumbled across this old chap on the dirt track up to Exochico. In fact we saw two of them on the same track.

The wild flower display is just on the turn, although still beautiful and these guys, which were huge, and pretty abundant had to be my ‘flower of the day’.

This is Exochico snapped from the track to Vlaseika. Our walk today was just over 13 kilometres, which we completed in 3 hours 9 minutes plus and hour and a half for stops. Our average moving speed was quite fast for some reason, at 4.1k per hour.
