Drawing & Painting Continued…..

The Tuesday group turned in a great collection of homework this week – the theme was to compose a still life….preferably with drapery….

And then got down to a little hatching, cross-hatching, and squiggling….as they grappled with value…..colour value that is….

or light and dark….and all the tones in between and how best to portray them….

It’s a tricky subject, value……but they were egged on (!)  with a side-lit-egg exercise which makes it easier to see the lights and darks….

Once you can see them….all you have to do is draw them!….

Which of course is not as easy as you’d think…..
