Collage & Transfer Print Finale

I started the final morning of the Collage & Transfer Print workshop with a little light ironing. Ironing my artwork that is – demonstrating a transfer print technique to the group!

We then got on with some fast & dirty collage assembly as above….

After quickly sticking our found papers down, a light coat of gesso was applied, followed by a wash of a creamy-tint, to give a slightly aged appearance and ‘knock back’ the text a little…..

The second method of the morning involves lots of layering – gesso – found papers – dilute acrylic – candle wax – oil pastels….and maybe a little proceon as well….

Everyone got stuck in (literally) and gamely experimented with both methods…

The results as you can see are pretty impressive…..

I have a feeling these guys will be having a lot of fun with collage in the future!

Nice work everyone – Happy Collaging!
