Cave Painting

This week’s on location class took place on lovely Amouthi beach, below Faneromeni….

where most of the artists spent the morning sketching from the cool of the cave…

this was our base-camp for the morning, as we tackled a variety of tricky subject matter including sea, waves, sea-froth, sand and rocks…

and a few feet…..

and beautifully painted hats…and footprints…

hard at work in our art-cave….shared with a couple of swallows….

everyone was more prolific today….

working hard on getting to grips with the challenges of plein air painting….

whilst grappling with the limitations of non-co-operative paper….

trying out new materials….

getting more sketchy and less precious….

and coming up with some lovely spreads….

apologies for my less-than-lovely photography here…..

The time sped by as usual – we finished off with a group viewing……and a bit of a swim for those who didn’t have to rush off….

Nice work everyone – well done indeed.
