Acrylic Painting (Continuation Class) Final Week

I can’t believe how quickly these four weeks have whizzed by. Today was the last session of the Continuation Course in Acrylic Painting, led by Jackie Sherwood

Some students had been inspired to do a little painting at home….

and kindly brought their work in to show the group….

After a brief talk from Jackie, everyone continued work on their larger, class paintings…

These photos were taken at the end of the morning, when the works were officially ‘finished’! Hoorrraaayyy…

It’s clear that all the patient layering of paint and working back and forth between the darks and lights really pays off…

I think everyone should be well pleased with their achievements here….

All morning, Jackie tirelessly helped students tweak their paintings…

and assisted several people start new ones….

Many thanks Jackie for introducing us to the joys of Acrylic Painting.

Great to have you all back again, and brilliant work by everyone. Keep at it, and don’t forget to revise your darks! Thanks for all the hard work and many thanks also to Gill. Jx

  2. Loved the course. Thank you both very very much. I’ve even been working on my stone painting already- 2 days into it so far. Lovely to have your inspiration..and it makes Alf happy that I’m peacefully painting again. Nice photo of us both despite the posiness of it!

    1. I’m so glad you enjoyed it Rose – your painting is lovely – really ‘painterly’ – acrylics is obviously for you…I look forward to seeing your future paintings.
