3 New Paintings – 2 New Videos

Stin Kouzina Mas (In our Kitchen) was started over a year ago although completed only recently after re-working one entire section. I’m now, finally, rather pleased with it. In our kitchen tells the story – via many layers of drawings, paint, wax, acrylic transfer, text and handwriting – of a typical seaside taverna or kafeneon in Greece.  From caique-boat to table, the fish is as fresh as can be – straight from the sea to the grill. The scene is similar whether it be Koroni – my local fishing port – or any working harbour in Greece and the Greek islands. Small, salty, fried fish, fresh from the sea, are consumed with a wedge of lemon and a cool glass of ouzo or tsipouro, whilst seated on a rickety taverna chair at a blue metal table, right by the waters edge. This video captures some of the later work-in-progress stages.

The original painting, which measures 27x35cm (10.5×13.5″) is available for £165 with FREE INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING until the end of April only. Created with artist’s quality acrylics and mixed-media on 300gsm watercolour paper, the painting is unframed and is signed and titled on the back.

Connected acquired its name after I asked for help in naming it over on my Facebook Art Page. Over 30 responses poured in and it was really difficult to choose from some great suggestions. I’ll be keeping lots of them on file and may use some for future paintings. When I do, a free mystery-gift will be sent to the person who suggested the name.
